Steve Jones is currently the Director of the High Performance Computing Center at Stanford University. In this role, he oversees the management and operation of a large-scale computing environment that primarily supports federally-funded sponsored research.
Jones is also co-chair of the HPC-AI Advisory Council Conference, which brings together leaders in academia, government, and industry to discuss how high performance computing and artificial intelligence can be leveraged to solve some of the world's most pressing challenges.
He has designed and administered numerous Top 500 Supercomputers, speaks regularly about the management of High Performance Computing Clusters, and offers a number graduate-level, continuing education, and HPC training courses.
Jones is passionate about the small-to-medium hpc cluster enterprise and enabling others in the space to leverage well-established free and open-source solutions to support their environments.
